Pleasure time out in a historic ambience
The dining area with large solid oak table and comfortable chairs and an antique children’s high chair for the little ones invites you to enjoy together. Toast your dinner with champagne or a regional wine – the integrated wine fridge is already well stocked when you arrive.
The high-end cooking area with induction stove, oven and refrigerator and a custom exposed concrete countertop directly adjacent to the dining area allows for uninterrupted communication during preparation and communal dining.
Living area
Read, relax & unwind
The living area on the second floor is the cozy meeting place for playing games, reading, watching TV and having good conversations. The gas-powered stove can be controlled with a remote control and provides even more comfort.
All the equipment is handpicked, carefully matched to the building and offers the best possible comfort. There is also a cozy reading corner with a Le Corbusier chaise longue in the loft.
Bathroom
Just switch off – without any hustle and bustle
Lying in the freestanding bathtub under a chandelier with a nice glass of wine and simply enjoying your free time is even more beautiful and relaxing in this historic ambience amidst half-timbered and quarry stone walls.
The floor-level shower and the rest of the high-quality furnishings in the spacious and modern bathroom on the first floor also very clearly reflect the contrast between history and modern luxury. Here the daily routine becomes a pleasure.
Outdoor and sauna
Outdoors at home – in the protected yard
The walled courtyard offers plenty of opportunity to sit outside comfortably – be it with the first cup of coffee or tea in the morning or a nice glass of red wine in the evening sun.
Sheltered from the wind, you can enjoy the day here and have a direct view of the adjacent park, where there is also a children’s playground.
Decelerate – outdoor and sauna
From now on, in the sheltered courtyard you can also relax wonderfully in other ways. Our new sauna invites you to slow down. Look forward to pleasant sauna and enjoy the pleasant warmth. You decide when you want to make yourself comfortable on the wooden benches to recharge your batteries and enjoy your time out to the fullest.
The bedrooms
Perfect sleeping comfort in a natural ambience. All our beds are custom made from pine wood and have very high quality 3D spring bodies for perfect body adaptation and spring mattresses. The walls made of clay plaster and the old half-timbering guarantee a cozy sleeping atmosphere.
Master bedroom
Welcome to the dream kingdom
The largest bedroom in the house offers space for a cozy and cozy double bed (180 x 200 cm) with bedside tables and reading lamps. Directly adjacent are the living area and the children’s bedroom on the 1st floor.
Children’s bedroom
Play, read, cuddle and much more
The children’s bedroom is equipped with a room-wide bed – about 160 x 200 cm in size – and is directly adjacent to the master bedroom and living area.
A basic set of children’s books and dolls is available, as well as a power outlet right by the bed to charge the cell phone or tablet.
Attic
Just time for me
In the open attic there are two beds (80 x 200 cm) with a view of the church of St. Martinus opposite.
The original Le Corbusier LC4 chaise longue on the other side invites you to read, relax and unwind.
About accommodation
The “Dömchen” is located in the heart of Dom-Esch, a suburb of Euskirchen. The Phantasialand is just 15 minutes away by car, Bad Münstereifel with its outlet center is about 25 minutes away. It takes about 40 minutes to drive to Bonn or to the Ahr river, Cologne (trade fair as well as main station) can be reached in about 40 minutes. The Nürburgring is about 60 minutes away and the High Fens are about 90 minutes away.
The half-timbered house with 2.5 floors dates back to the 16th century, used to serve as a sexton’s yard and former village school, and is largely preserved in its original form. The partially low ceilings and sloping floors are also part of it. Some elements could also come from the open-air museum Kommern (about 30 minutes away) and are a real experience for young and old. The idyllic location in the center of the village allows children to use the playground directly behind the house, while parents can relax in the house or in the courtyard. For hikes and walks in the immediate vicinity begins a lot of open field, the bike paths in the Voreifel and Eifel are very well developed and signposted.
Our values
In all our activities, we pay attention to the preservation and maintenance of the old (building) substance and see the issue of sustainability as an overall concept. That is why in this object many old objects, but especially ceilings, floors and walls correspond perfectly with the modern and classic furniture and furnishings.
Establishment
The high-quality furniture was carefully selected. Some of the old lamps could be preserved. The Bakelite rotary switches are also a reminiscence of the “good old days” and simply fit this beautiful object. Incidentally, emphasis is placed on modern technology to enjoy the comfort of living in the best possible way.

Means of transport
Dom Esch is located a few kilometers from Euskirchen and is served by the city bus, the bus stop is about 200m walk from the house.
The connection to Cologne, Bonn, Aachen is therefore in principle also possible by public transport, but we advise to arrive with your own car and then also use it for excursions.
